The single 12-inch speaker gives a little extra depth over a 10-inch, while making sure you're still punching through your soundmix as clear as possible unlike with a muddier-sounding 15-inch speaker. Moreover, there's the 1-inch tweeter with a 3-way switch to aid you in this regard.
